Building the Ethereal Blueprints

I've had a harder time with this than I thought I would.... writing up the Idea to further write then into a business plan/proposal. I even picked up a book yesterday so that I could work on it this weekend. I've never written a business plan... worked in finance for over 10 years now... so that part of preparing financial analysis should be a breeze.
So.... here are the "founding steps" to the Ashram/Living Sanctuary idea....
*Hotel rooms - the resort aspect of the idea being a place for people who wish to vacation with intent.
*Living Units - this is a bit more diverse... these are simple living apartments for people in "transit" who are looking for a way to establish themselves in a positive work environment, the living areas will be zen-like in simplicity with basic technologies so that they can look for opportunities for additional work or scholastic study. The living arrangements are an exchange for work performed in various areas of the Ashram.
*Meditation Therapy areas - there will be various studies of meditation, yoga, focused breathing, etc. There will be multiple ares so that more than one therapy can be performed at one time. Hope to have them spread through out the ashram.
*Auditorium - for workshops, music performances, or theatre performances... seating at the very least 1000 at a time.
*Organic Farming Area - for basic produce needs... if thinking on a larger scale, this could be located off-site in a farming development area.
*Restaurant(s) - variety is the spice of life... but organic is necessary. Vegan would also be an option or one specific restaurant dedicated to organic vegan.
*Salon - (dreaming huge) I am looking to incorporate a salon with the likes of John Masters... organic line of hair care as well as skin care products.
*Massage Center - massage, acupuncture, herbology, or various alternative healing arts. I'd like to set this up as a separate building as well. A "medical" facility on site. I'd also like to host an small supply store for essential oils and such here.
*Zen Garden - with areas for "work in progress" and ever-changing designs.
*Labyrinths - areas for walking meditations.
*The Library - an absolute must of various spiritual, religious, metaphysical studies... this will be a vast and highly inclusive collection of books available for purchase or just to rent for a stay (for on-site guests only).
*Business Offices - for various practices that are in agreement with the gestalt business mind of the Ashram. (Also potentially, teaching areas... just popped into my head.)
So... there are the building blocks that have been in my head... to start with. Within each of these ideas is a list of things that will expand the Ashram to become a full thriving business with the intent of bringing people to their higher divine potential!
Now the task at hand is organizing all these thoughts and prioritizing the parts that need to come first, second, and so on. And, allowing all the proper connection to make their way to this project to help bring it into full fruition. All things will come in Divine time.
This is the start of my Ashram idea.

I have always dreamed of being part of a holistic health complex (yoga classes, reiki practitioners, therapists/coaches, ayurvedic doctors, herbalists, massage therapists, etc) I like the idea of adding a salon, too. I think it would be a neat addition to the Ashram, just be careful it doesn’t impeed on the residents!
Will there be community gardens and a farm plot too?
Yes, yes… the Organic Farming area is a must…. it can also be meditative, therapeutic… and beneficial to all… and we would also focus on sustainable practices as well.
Kelly, sounds wonderful! Keep those thoughts flowing. Good luck and remember to seal it witha prayer!
Super. I am sure you already plan on doing this, but keep us in the loop! Very exciting.
OH….. I totally forgot one of my dormant loves…. there will also be a full scale Fitness Facility complete with trainers (hopefully FIT-minded / trained). See… it’s still expanding in the creative realm…. can’t wait to get it going in the physical realm!!
And we shall not forget the kitchen where we prepare organic vegetarian meals, in-as-much as (i) had the honor of being Kitchen Queen @ an ashram in my wandering days.
Hey lady,
just read your idea…awesome! You should also incorporate somewhere to be creative and artsy. Paints, paper, mixed medium stuff, photo stuff. Where people can play and get their hands a bit dirty! Oh what fun…I'll reserve my space now:)
It sounds like Cohousing almost. I lived in cohousing in Portland Oregon for 2 years. Check it out

Ey new Friend!! ~ Have you thought about where you would like to build this community? Are you working in finance today? Wondering if you have found some dirt to start digging yet? :)
Wow, thank you everyone for the continued supportive energies for this idea!
janel, I feel as though it's still in the ethereal creation stage… I've got some time scheduled to meet with someone who has written business plans that has offered to help me! So, baby steps towards reality… I'd love for this (or at least the first) ashram to be here on the Central Coast of CA … partial to the beauty of this area. Still looking for the fertile soil!
I like it.
Absolutely! Thank you for connecting with me. I lived in an intentional esoteric community & seminary for several years and served in many different business areas, marketing as well as spiritual counseling and hands-on healing. Great memories and tremendous personal growth. Beautiful area at what they call the foot-hills of Oklahoma with the emerald green Arkansas River running through the bottom of the mountain…more like a large hill to me. Gorgeous, nevertheless!
Thanks for including me in your “Reality Dream.” You are making it happen right now! Feel free to contact me if you'd like to get to know one another better, brain-storm or if I may be of service in any way.
Let me know how your business plan is coming along. It will help to have someone locally support you in achieving this very necessary step in the process. Yet, I'm available to help in whatever way I can.
Do keep me informed.
Namaste!
Jim
This all sounds very wonderful. Count me in. I'm always ready to be part of such community.
much love, Rohit
Thank you, Rohit!! I am very excited about manifesting this dream … and realize the dream to reality process takes time and patience! :) I am open to how the Universe will make this all happen!
We need more of you! And then I thought of the Zaadz seeds, how people who visit the Sanctuary can spread out and back to their home places and open them up to others to move through and connect and spread on little place and garden and family at a time around the world..
this is a great idea. it is a different flavor of a dream that i have carried for many years. good luck and perhaps someday i will get the chance to work with you. :)
im sure we can talk more about this later too.
this community of new thought villagers sits under the subconscious minds of all our cultural creatives, my freind…to view the mother heart shocking cost effective earth home 100% natural building method go see www.naturalvillages.org and let me know how I can build this website to serve your village development needs better. I want this organization to provide true physical, financial and educational food to every tribe member in search of their village. Also, my dear, sweet freind…go see the avalon community pages, (google for avalon springs) they are located near Harbin Hot springs in California..they have many hot springs on their many acres, and the business plan is done, and looks similar in ways to yours…I also promote linking intention to intention so resources are used more effectively. LOTS OF LUCK and please…use me as a resource! (and yes I have also lived in village off the grid and been part of ashraam communities)
Good idea!
Kelly:
You have just heightened my Ah-ha expereince today! My husband and I have been studying co-housing for years - he more than I - but my dream has always been to start a healing arts center and have people live on the property, in their own housing, and offering space for those who come for a retreat, a day of workshops, or a weekend. This sounds awesome and goes to show we are all plugged in to the same source!
Godd luck and best wishes.
L.
Keep it up!!that has been my dream, and most certainly one that later on in life will be a physical reality—creating a health complex, constituted by the idea of providing a blissful and healthy experience in all those areas that are part of our lifes, from eating something at an fully organic place– but one that is also enhanced by unconditional love and positivism; an all inclusive hotel, that carries organic-everything(LOL) but that employes staff who have an ecletic mind and are on the spiritual path….it’s just wonderful to know there are people like you who have such a broad mind, and yet one more on the path of within-ness, and are making this physical place a better to exist in the meantime.
I have no idea how I got here, and no mistakes. Your dream is very similar to one that I downloaded a few years ago and how you talk about it is soooo familar. I've been calling it a village rather than an ashram, so it's interesting to think about it in this light … let me know if you (or anyone reading this) would like to see my whole concept …
…euh :)
Me too?
Trying to do something as like that here in Quebec : an healthy place to evolve. As years passed, I got more and more data on the subject, more opportunities, more exemple of realization. It is quite possible. In fact, the only thing hard to do is to find a place where everyone will agree to invest their life.

Contemplative education is something I would like to implant in Quebec. The only known place for such studies in North America is Boulders, Colorado :

KEEP ON CREATING Rev. Kelly Cookson!
Sounds great just joining in and would like to learn more.
I'm in for harmony and moving forward.
It's perfect, it's amazing, and I'd like in! How far along are you? I'd love to consult!!
Thanks for such positive energy Candace! I am still in the idea stage… I can visualize it and feel it… I am awaiting some guidance as far as how to move forward with the idea and to whom it would need to be presented to start making it a manifested reality.
I am patient. :)
Wow, my first comment! I kept seeing your foot everywhere, on all sorts of profiles, so I'm here…the Ashram sounds great, I have this bookstore/cafe/dinner theatre thingy in my head, and I freak out over small details, which really don't matter, cause Spirit will make it happen, it'll just all fall into place where it needs to be. So I create the space in my imagination first, or I use various computer programs to design the physical spaces first.
Find some architecture software, or find a copy of Sims, it's a game where you can build your dream home and manipulate the lives of the people living in it.
You can build real places, decorate the walls and flooring, and add all sorts of furniture (there's even a few asian theme objects). It might be a way to see the space from another viewpoint, workout how each room will flow into the next.
Blessings to you, may your thoughts be manifest!
How are things coming along? It sounds wonderful…you will love a project a dear friend here in Florida is working on…the SKY Project. Keep your eyes open for one of this country's first full-scale eco-developments on the west coast of Florida.. It's truly a work of art!
Keep us posted!
I thinkt its very cool.
when you get it up and runing i want to come see it.
did you finish your proposel?
Felicia
This is a very beautiful idea! I have been comming up with similar ideas for years. It is nice to meet you.
I thank God for this moment that i read your blog. Very inspiring. Makes one dream big and hope for the best for all mankind. I love your idea.
Me & Chi Chi the cat will be in CA by December 2007 in our RV, producing AscensionCentral.TV, a road trip webtv show on the lighter side of planetary evolution. We'll be wanting to stay at the ashram. Can you include a new media production studio room? This to have space for the webtv show producers living at the ashram & sharing their light with the world whilst being well paid too (I'm working on that part, and Zaadz/Gaiam has a part in it).
So again, this is the track many want to be on…and I do hope you went to view the Avalon community, as they had a plan, and are actualizing it now, as we are, at the NEW www.natural-villages.org website….please join us, and ask yourself, miss Caprikelly…if I were to join into this with others already doing the same thing…how long would it take?
I have been a non profit director, which also means program developer, grant writer, economic system protector (all non profit organizations with core staff are also economic community providers, right?) without that income there would be no community to make the mission manifest…
anyway, I am sure you have made much progress….are deepening into the vision, and walking it at the pace that is most comfortable for you…
love to your efforts.
love to your heart
success to your results.
How about a place for the Light? Maybe a James Turrell kinda place or perhaps Rothko?
I am so excited to hear that you are bringing your plans to light, K! I know your passion so I am sure that this will unfold in a most delicious way for you and all the people that this project touches. Keep dreaming big!
